Program Overview
SafeRoads® Practical Traffic
Skills Course
Prepare new personnel for their role as company car
drivers with this thorough introduction to driving standards
and set expectations for safe driving. Pre course reading
booklet supports private, two hour session conducted in the
driver’s fleet vehicle with training and assessment
conducted in a variety of traffic environments. Use as a building
block to the SafeRoads® “TDIC” format or as
an interim check-up between regular recurrent training.
SafeRoads® Total Driver Improvement
Course (TDIC)
This full day course lays important ground work in vehicle
dynamics and crash prevention strategies through a formal
theory presentation. Content tackles driver behaviours, risk
factors and the technical aspects every driver needs to know.
Phase two brings theory to life through behind-the-wheel cornering
exercises, evasive swerve collision avoidance, emergency braking,
ABS and slalom drills. Drivers come face-to-face with the
SafeRoads® specially equipped skid training
vehicle for the ultimate learning experience.
SafeRoads® Seasoned Driver’s
Course
Raise the bar for the experienced driver with the next level
of SafeRoads® advanced training. This
refresher course sets the tone for more challenging driving
exercises through an interactive theory workshop that features
case study analysis. The day long course continues with a
series of behind-the-wheel exercises that mirror the activities
drivers perform on a daily basis, dealing with multi-tasking,
attention sharing and self-directed route following. For the
seasoned driver, this will highlight the cognitive functioning
skills that are necessary for managing increasingly complex
traffic and workplace demands. Vehicle handling skills and
crash prevention techniques are integrated throughout the
curriculum presenting a total driver improvement program.

specially equipped skid training vehicle for continuity and
challenge.
SafeRoads® Driver Assessment
The SafeRoads® in-vehicle driver assessment
is designed to address a driver’s high risk status by
identifying areas in immediate need of attention. A two hour
private session includes trainer review of driver history
and follow up written report to the company. The focus is
to deal with a specific concern in a supportive setting and
arrest high risk behavioural trends.
